My Style:

My style is laid-back, curious, and human. My space is alive with color and full of plants, with music humming in the background. It’s designed to invite reflection, not pressure. Whether you’re here for small adjustments or deeper work, we’ll focus on what's important to you and go at your pace. Your feelings are always important and communicate valuable information; and, they don't always need to run the show. I'm here to help you feel and understand your thoughts and emotions, show you how to access a different point of view, and strengthen your capacity to choose from intention rather than reaction.

My approach to a therapeutic process is integrative. I draw from many synergistic points of view including: Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi Body-Centered Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness and Meditation, Eastern Philosophy, and Spirituality. And perhaps the most transformational and important component of a therapeutic process- Fun.

My passions: My family, including my Bernedoodle/therapy sidekick Baloo. Learning and exploring the nature of consciousness; Traveling; Music- funk/jazz/blues/world/hip-hop/rock, and playing drums; Snowboarding, surfing, moving my body, and the outdoors. You're welcome to reach out and see if this feels like a good place to begin :)

What I Do:

  • Help slow things down so your emotions and thoughts make more sense

  • Help you experience and process your emotions without suppressing or being overwhelmed by them

  • Help you work *with* your emotions instead of being run by them

  • Help you process difficult experiences or trauma in digestible, tolerable ways

  • Help you access different points of view- the difficulty you’re experiencing comes from your current point of view. We need to access a different point of view to access different feelings!

  • Help you realize you *always* have agency and choice

  • Help to realign the synergy between your spirit, mind, and body

  • Help you build capacity for distress tolerance so you’re not avoiding natural aspects of your human experience

  • Help you reconnect with your imagination - the creative interface with reality!

  • Help inspire a renewed sense of purpose for living

  • Help you become aware of what’s most meaningful to you, and to place more attention there

  • Help you orient more attention towards what’s going well and what you enjoy!

Who I Am:

I was born and raised in Texas, which I’ve come to realize is quite a unique place. Texas gave me roots and my soul; I kept the spirit, and left the mindset. I have a special place in my heart for Texas- and a respectful amount of distance. After high school I moved to Boulder to attend the University of Colorado. I was formally educated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, and informally mega-certified in snowboarding and absolutely disrespecting seriousness- a perfect therapeutic combo.

I then spent my 20s living nomadically around various parts of the world, exploring as many different cultures, environments, lifestyles, and perspectives as I possibly could. These adventures helped me understand myself- and humans in general- in a much deeper capacity, and have fueled my innate passion for helping people explore and understand their unique journey through Life.

These travels ultimately led me to Guatemala, where I ran into a beautiful Canadian with a spell-binding magnetism I didn’t want to ignore- she (my wife) is responsible for rerouting my path up north to Canada. I decided to pursue more schooling, and graduated from Capella University with a Master’s of Science in Clinical Psychology, with a Specialization in Applied Research. Since then I have continually engaged in trainings and workshops of all kinds, absorbing and integrating as many therapeutic perspective as I can. I have worked as a psychologist in private practice with hundreds of people from all walks of life, without abandoning my longstanding dedication to travel, play, and adventure.

All of my experiences- academic and more importantly, experiential- have shaped my perspective as a psychologist. I have always been curious about the nature of being human. I am in love with the process of living- seeking, connecting, suffering, rejoicing, healing, and loving. I feel truly honoured to share and hold space with anyone and everyone who has chosen to follow the pull towards something more. I look forward to connecting with you :)
